WHAT'S NEW IN VERSION 6 OF LOG-EQF:
- With EMS memory installed, Log-EQF now can handle 64,000 QSOs for each
megabyte of RAM.
- AMSOFT "World of Ham Radio", "BuckMaster HAMCALL", AA7BQ's "QRZ!", and
RT-Systems "SAM" CD-ROMs now supported in addition to the SAM hard disk
system.
- SCRATCHPAD available from the logging screens by using the <Ctrl> key.
The scratchpad can be used to "doodle", or to lookup callsigns from
any of the callsign databases.
- SEARCH now has a TABLE and a UNIQUE mode. Tables are files ending in
.TBL, used for matching contents in a selected field. (Tables are
provided for WAS and IOTA). Unique searches locate only the first
occurance of a unique pattern in a selected field.
- TNC terminal is now SPLIT-SCREEN instead of full-screen. Input
characters are buffered instead of being sent directly to the TNC.
(The keyboard buffer can be turned off for RTTY or CW, if desired).
- CONTEST configurations are now stored separately, up to 23 different
contests can be "pre-defined". CONTEST configurations now include
scoring by band and mode.
- MORSE CODE generator (use the <Alt-K> key) uses standard CT/NA
interface from serial or parallel ports. You can use the <Alt> key
along with <F1> through <F6> to send memories while on the logging
screen.
- HELP SCREEN while logging using the <Alt-H> key. The help contents
are contained in file LOG-EQF.HLP, and can be edited using any text
editor.
- New QSL LABEL formats include two for laser printers.
- More complete display with QUICK VIEW while in CONTEST mode.
- INFO field can now be tailored with each logbook, just like the TRACK
field.
- New EDIT screen functions similar to logging screen - allows marking
QSOs for printing labels with single keystroke, plus the other
features found on the "old" edit screen.
- EXTERNAL CONTROL of a device tied to the computer's LPT1 or LPT2 port
can be accomplished from a popup menu on the logging screen, using
<ALT-E>. Control can also be accomplished so that the current
frequency switches the port's data lines, based on the frequency
ranges setup in file LOG-EQF.FRQ. Also compatible with CT Version 9,
so commercially-available items such as the "TOP TEN" (N3RD) antenna
switch will work with Log-EQF.
- PacketCluster (tm) screen now includes a "HIT LIST ALARM". You can
enter up to five callsigns or prefixes you want to be alerted for when
a DX spot for them occurs. The alarm is a distinctive audio tone that
lasts for a couple of seconds.
- DOS programs now can report up to 17 lines of text back to Log-EQF by
storing their output in a temporary disk file called LOG-EQF.TMP.
- File-EQF now includes a TABULAR ASCII file format for import to Log-
EQF. This format can be tailored to import from any file that aligns
the fields in columns. An on-screen menu system is used to define
what column each field begins on, and how many characters in each one.
- A new module called Mem-EQF allows users of ALL interfaced rigs to have
LOCAL MEMORIES, just like those Kenwood users with Rig-EQF have enjoyed.
If Rig-EQF is not in the directory, the <F10> key on the auto logging
screen will access this module. Frequency and mode are stored on the
disk drive; up to 22 memories per page with comments for each memory.
